Genesis will need several outfits. We see local riders often and I would have for her to have one the same thing each time. Each outfit that she owns will need thick stain resistant under clothing. So Genesis is going to need several sets of thicker under clothing in all different lengths and Pattern Cuts.
She will also need different colors of Helmets to match her clothing.

Genesis with a Bonus of Against All Odds
My two Sporty Girls!~
I bought my Smart Doll Genesis, JUST, to ride on the handlebars of my Bicycle and Go Places with Us. Yes. You read that right. I bought my Genesis JUST to take places on my Bicycle.
I had several Smart Dolls I could have taken, but then, I would have been upset if one of them got scratched, rubbed, dropped, fallen, or what have you that happens while riding bicycle.
Before I go on, let me stop and tell you some 'back story'. Deron and I ride, at the time we bought Genesis, about 50 to 75 miles per week on our Bicycles. Most of that on Katy Trail, a Rails to Trails that goes across Missouri, USA.
I have a Blythe Doll, named Daisy, that has ridden well over 1000 miles. Daisy has her own 3D Printed Seat on my handlebars, and her own play list on my Youtube Channel, Dolls Rescued. I KNOW what these rides can and often do, to a doll's body and face. So THAT is why I wanted a Smart Doll Just for this.
I thought about using a Chaos head that I did the Face Up on. No. I do not think I can do that nice of a job on the face. These dolls are so beautiful, so pretty, and so cute, all at the same time. And if I was going to take one with us, all over, including shopping, eating out, meeting people, Library Yarns, as well as Festivals, and other event, I wanted a Smart Doll with a Factory Face.
Deciding on WHICH Smart Doll I Wanted
THIS was a hard decision. I wavered, I thought, I wondered. I was picking one out between, Against All Odds, Genesis, and Nostalgia. Each beautiful. Each Sporty looking. I then narrowed it down between Genesis and Against All Odds, Each of these two dolls, so beautifully 'Sun Kissed", perfect for the Cycling look!
I really thought, and thought, and thought. At one time, I told Deron, who orders, I wanted Against All Odds (Ellie). But I kept looking and a few days later asked Deron to order Genesis, who by the way, was Number 2, on my 'Smart Doll Want List' that I had had going for a while now.
I have to say. One of the reasons I kept going back to Genesis, over Against All Odds, was the Sail Boat photo on Genesis Page. She just looked so gorgeous and sporty.
We ordered Genesis and some bigger boobs, but, not for Genesis. They would be too much to rub on the trail as we rode along.
Unbeknownst to me, Deron ordered Against All Odds and a Tea Peach Body, as well as larger boobs and surprised me with these! WOW!~ I WAS SO SURPRISED!
So not only did I get both dolls, but a body and extra boobs to boot!~
3D Printed Car/Bicycle Seat
I LOVE THESE SEAT!
I am so Blessed to have a Husband that Supports my Hobbies!~ And who is a Genius with the 3D Printers!
Years ago I had asked for a Seat for Daisy my Blythe Doll to ride on my Bike with me. He printed several over time. Different colors for my different bicycles.
So when I asked for a Cycling Smart Doll and a Seat and a Helmet, his answer was, "What Colors"?.
The first Seat he made, prior to the idea of a Cycling Smart Doll was for a Pear Shaped Smart Doll. I need chairs. My Smart Dolls need good chairs. It worked out beautifully. He did some tweaking to the size and back of the chair and Genesis's Seat is beautiful! He then tweaked the part that attaches to my bike.
This Part he made to slide into my Yorkshire Terrier's Basket Holder. It works great and I don't have to worry about it coming loose of not handling the weight. The Dog Basket is rated for up to 20 pounds.
I am hoping Deron will get the time to add portable legs. Legs that can be carried into Restaurants so that Genesis has a good chair, out of the way, and can sit there as pretty as she does on my bike.
Yes, we will sell these, Custom Made. But the print time is long. We would need to know what color and for a Classic Smart Doll Body or for Pear Smart Doll Body. These are available in our Store on this website. If not up right now, email us.
3D Printed Helmets
Deron is amazing with his 3D Printers. Amazing. He took a Helmet, made for a Bitty Baby American Girl Dolls, Model (Pattern), and resized it for a Smart Doll. He made a few small changes, and printed the first in Orange. Yes, I have about 8 different colors of Bike Helmets to match my Kits/Clothes, so she will too.
I was going to pad the helmet, but I , because of the tweaks that Deron had made, that the wig held the Helmet away from the forehead enough, just right really, and any padding could make the Helmet so tight, it crimped the wig.
The elastic for both the Helmets and the Seat needed to fit the items as close as I could match them. And. They had to be a good grade, well made elastic. This IS my Smart Doll we are talking about.
If the elastic does not fit correct, too small will slide around in the area and perhaps rub the doll more than correct fitted elastic. Too wide and it would need to be folded to fit, making it thicker to rub the Smart Doll's face and neck.
On that. The fit of the length of the elastic needs to be, not too tight, not too loose. To tight will possibly indent the vinyl over time, as well as pull to tight on the wig. If the elastic under the neck is too loose will rub for sure!
Yes. We do sell these in our Store on this Website. Yes. You can get Custom Colors.
Special Cycling Clothing
The clothing that Genesis will wear, are the real deal. Not something she will stand on a shelf and LOOK LIKE she is a Cyclist, she WILL BE a Cyclist. So her clothing has to be made right for the rides. That is, no snaps, velcro correctly inserted, and as much no stain fabrics as possible.
Not only does her clothing have to not stain or rub, it has to fit right, not too tight to make rubbing easy, and not too baggy to catch wind and blow, thus, also rubbing her vinyl. Also. I want most of her clothing to look like Bicycling Kits.
Fabrics will need to be pretested. To do this I heat up a cup of water to almost boil. I cut a small piece of fabric off and drop it into the cup of hot water. Usually the fabric, if they are going to, will 'bleed' immediately. But. Not always. Add a bit of dish soap to the cup with the fabric in it and stir. If the fabric 'bleeds' a lot, I certainly would not use them for this doll.
Snaps are a NO. Velcro, with the soft side toward the doll, best. Snaps can rub the doll with every move, EVERY move and you would not even know this until the vinyl was ruined. Velcro, sewn correctly with the hard side out, away from the doll, even if it comes open, would not harm the doll's body.
Flat small seams are best. Doubling over, no. Sewing the seams correctly, that is turning the edges under twice, could make the clothing too thick and could place a rub area on the doll's body. Clothing needs to fit as evenly as possible.
Any Dresses or Skirts or Tops, will be lined in white fabric under the outside fabrics.
Under Garments. White Under Garments is not something I put on my dolls. However, Genesis will have them in many types and sizes, such as long and short sleeved. They will need to be made with thicker fabrics rather than thin. She is not standing on a shelf with a thin white liner, she will be moving in the seat, bouncing on rough terrain, and being placed in and out of the seat.
These Under Garments will have to protect from rubbing of fabrics that could stain or rub raw the vinyl. They do, each, have to cover enough of her body to protect her, but not so much that they show.
Genesis will not share her clothing with my other Smart Dolls. Why? I do not want to take a chance that grit or dirt or something I do not see, or did not wash out, will touch my other Smart Dolls. Same with shoes and boots.
READY - SET - RAIN!
I finished all of the Sewing that needed to be done, clothing, straps, ext. just in time for a week of RAIN!
Genesis's outfit is a Neon Pink, it does not show up well in the photos. Her Pink Helmet is a High Shine Bright Pink. Maybe because it is so cloudy, the colors washed out with the photo.
The Bike Seat is tilted back a bit because of the base. The base has a part to it that clips into the Pet Basket Holder on my Bicycle Handlebars, so it looks a bit strange on the Counter.
WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!
Before you decide that this, taking a Smart Doll out on a Bicycle, or Motorcycle, or whatever, KNOW THAT THERE IS A VERY GOOD CHANGE OF DAMAGE TO THE SMART DOLL.
Just because you read about this on our Website or say this on our Videos, DOES NOT MAKE US RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN ACTIONS! Whatever YOU do with YOUR own dolls is your business. But we will not be held accountable for your actions or damage to your dolls.
Our First Ride
A LOT of planning and measuring and making went into this first ride. Genesis is so much larger and taller on my bike than my other dolls, I have taken many in Daisy's seat. But the planning and making is finished and off we go.
Riding About Town
Deron and I often ride to Lunch and Shopping in town, as well as to Meetings and the Post Office, call it, Running Errands.
In this photo I had ridden, for the First Time, to Library Yarns. It is a Group of ladies that get together to Crochet and Knit and Cross Stitch and such.
There is a Bonas for me there. Nichole from, Not The Cool Dolls, meets me there each week and we each take our Smart Dolls. THIS makes it double the fun.
Genesis At The Renn Faire
Genesis goes to more and other places than just her Bicycle Seat. On Sept 29th 2024 she went to a Renaissance Faire in MI, where we met up with friends and had a wonderful time.
I am not 'crazy' about her Bo Peep looking Renn Dress. But it is what I had and no time to sew. Sometime, you grab and go and enjoy life.
More on Genesis's beginning, progress, Photos and videos coming very soon.
The contents of this page for Genesis The Cycling Smart Doll is still under construction. Please check back often.
